CeBIT 2008: New directions for Netviewer’s Web conferencing

Karlsruhe, Germany, 07.02.2008 -  Netviewer AG will launch significant new services at this year's CeBIT on booth C63 in hall 3. Building on the recent release of Netviewer five (an extensively enhanced version of their award winning web conferencing solution), Netviewer will reveal a portal for interactive live video events, new web extensions and integration with Microsoft OCS. Netviewer will be joined on its booth by its partners: Projectplace, Inneo Solutions, Aviconet, and Samsung who will be exhibiting solutions and products which enhance or benefit from virtual collaboration over the Web.

Karlsruhe-based Netviewer's prime goal is to make web conferencing as easy as possible so that for all types of workers online collaboration becomes as natural as making a phone call. The new developments premiered at CeBIT, Netviewer Web calendar, Netviewer PreChat, Netviewer Live Presenter, Netviewer for Events and integration with Microsoft OCS, further extend the ease of use of web conferencing and remote collaboration.

Netviewer Single Event Edition
Netviewer Single Event Edition will be available immediately after CeBIT. This version of Netviewer five has been designed specifically for delivering online conferences such as webinars or shareholder meetings with between 100 to 1,000 participants. With a lightweight client requiring no installation, this tool is perfect for sharing information from a moderator’s computer with large audiences.

Netviewer Live Presenter
Netviewer Live Presenter is a portal where organisations can hold interactive live events for large numbers of viewers or offer existing and potential customers the option of viewing pre-prepared webcasts. In the case of live events, a moderator using a web camera introduces products or topics. Participants send their questions and comments via the integrated chat.
Live Presenter is a fully hosted solution which can be easily integrated into a corporate website, eliminating the need for companies to invest in their own infrastructure for real time large group visual communication. For simplicity Live Presenter is web browser based, neither the presenter nor viewers need to run any software other than their web browser.

Netviewer Web calendar
With the Netviewer Web Calendar, companies can now plan, administer, and publicize their online meetings via the Internet or on their Intranet. Available with full customization to reflect corporate style, this new service provides added flexibility and convenience to Netviewer’s intuitive web conferencing system.

Netviewer PreChat
Netviewer PreChat is an instant messaging program designed to allow two people to interact ad hoc over the Internet without needing to launch a full web conference, or install IM software.  For instance an online shopper can ask a sales consultant a simple question about a product or service, which at the click of a mouse can be converted from a chat session to a desktop sharing session for a demonstration or to remotely diagnose the customer’s issue.

Microsoft Office Communication Server integration
At the end of 2007, Netviewer achieved the highest level of certification for a Microsoft partner, becoming a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner and confirming that Netviewer fulfills the highest requirements for competency and quality in ISV/software solutions.
Building on its expertise in the Microsoft environment Netviewer has developed a plug-in for the Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 (OCS). The plug-in enables Netviewer sessions to be started directly from an OCS environment.

Netviewer Partners
CeBIT 2008 sees Netviewer joined on its booth for the first time by its strategic partners. Projectplace takes advantage of the opportunity and exhibits the latest version of its web-based project management solution with integrated VoIP technology and face-to-face communication from Netviewer. Samsung Electronics GmbH exhibits a new type of monitor with integrated web cam, microphone, and speakers aimed specifically at Web conferencing users. INNEO Solutions GmbH and Aviconet GmbH are resellers of Netviewer solutions. INNEO is also a Microsoft Gold Partner and specializes in integration of complete solutions for product development, project management, and IT infrastructure. Aviconet is a full-service provider for IT service management.
